Why AROA?
The name is a blend of Angela and Rob - my name, and my husband’s. Rob recently passed, and creating this brand has been one way of honouring him and the values we shared: caring for family, being practical, and doing things properly.
I just wanted something that worked properly, didn’t dry my hands out, and didn’t feel wasteful. That didn’t seem like too much to ask.
Our Story
Created by a New Zealand mum of three, AROA was born from years of everyday cooking and cleaning - and a growing frustration with dish liquids that were harsh on hands, wasteful in packaging, and filled cupboards without lasting long.
More recently, after my husband passed away, I found myself doing the dishes by hand far more often. What had once been a quick task became a quiet moment at the sink each day - and it made me think even more about the products we use in these everyday rituals.
AROA Dish Paste is the result: a concentrated, low-tox alternative that is gentle on hands, effective on grease, and designed to reduce waste without compromising on performance - made locally with care for homes like ours.

A concentrated dishwashing paste that replaces liquid soap. Soft on hands and dishes, powerful on grease, and naturally low waste.
Made with coconut-derived cleansers to create a rich, creamy lather that lifts grease, finished with a light natural citrus scent.
INGREDIENTS Sodium Cocoyl Isethionate, Cocamidopropyl Betaine, Limonene-D.
HOW TO USE
- Wet your sponge or brush.
- Swirl gently into AROA dishwasing paste.
- Wash dishes as normal. Use a scrubber or brush for heavier baked-on food. Rinse dishes.
- Tip away any excess water from the bowl and allow AROA dishwashing paste to air dry.
Avoid contact with eyes. If in eyes, rinse thoroughly with water.
If irritation occurs, discontinue use. Keep out of reach of children.

What is dish paste?
Dish paste is a concentrated alternative to liquid dish soap. Instead of pouring, you lightly swirl a wet sponge or brush over the paste. Because it contains far less water, it lasts much longer and creates less waste.
How do I use it?
Wet your sponge or dish brush, swirl lightly over the paste, then wash and rinse as usual.
A little goes a long way - start with less and add more only if needed.
Is it gentle on hands?
Yes. AROA Dish Paste is low-tox and non-abrasive, designed to clean effectively without stripping or drying your hands.
Does it work in hard water?
Yes. Our formula is designed to perform well in mineral-rich (hard) water, rinsing clean without leaving a dull film or residue.
